Sodium Ferrocyanide

CAS NO.:13601-19-9
Molecular formula: Na4Fe(CN)6.10H2O

Sodium Ferrocyanide CAS 14434-22-1 13601-19-9, is the sodium salt of the coordination compound of formula [Fe(CN)6]4−. It is a yellow crystalline solid that is soluble in water and insoluble in alcohol. The ferrocyanides are less toxic than many salts of cyanide, because they tend not to release free cyanide. In its hydrous form, Na4Fe(CN)6·10H2O (sodium ferrocyanide decahydrate),  it is sometimes known as yellow prussiate of soda. The yellow color is the color of ferrocyanide anion. No fixed melting point, heating to 50℃ to dehydration, 81.5℃ as anhydride, decomposition of 435℃.

Applications of Sodium Ferrocyanide

Widely used in producing blue pigment, blue heliographic paper, paint coating and dyeing, printing industry; used in deironing agent in medical industry; also used as cementite.

Packing: Woven bag with vinyon bag, NW: 50kg, 25kg for export product or on the clients’ requirements.

Applications

  • Pigment industry: used for production of Prussian blue and potassium ferricyanide raw materials;

  • Dyeing and printing industry: used for production of blue printing paper;

  • Pharmaceutical industry: used for the pharmaceutical production in the process of removing iron;

  • Iron and steel industry: used for carburizing steel, leather tanning, metal surface corrosion treatment;

  • Food industry: used as a food additive -- table salt anti-caking agent.
